Non-Drip Teabag prototype production machine

This Non-Drip Teabag concept was invented in Australia and a major UK manufacturer needed a production machine to enable sufficient product to be created for a trial marketing exercise. The product was quite demanding to make as it consisted of 2 components. 1 was a normal square tea bag. This was heat staked to an outer cover made from thin foamed plastic just over twice the length of the tea bag, hinged in the middle and then folded over the bag. As you can see the mechanism needed to produce this was quite complex but we were able to develop it into a reliable production machine. Sadly the product was not sufficiently well received by the public to justify full scale production.
